The Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute is accepting applications for an Associate Vice President of Finance; dedicated to excellence in career and technical education who desires to become part of an environment that values trust, integrity, pride, passion, respect, collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement. This successful candidate will have overall responsibility for management of the fiscal affairs of the institution. Plans, administers, monitors and evaluates financial services including budgeting, payroll, purchasing, student accounts, stores and inventory.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance with at least 10 years’ experience or a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance with at least 5 years’ experience. CPA or ACCA designation is preferred;

Skills/Experience:

• Proficient in Quick Books.
• The ability to effectively present and explain financial information and respond to budget and accounts questions from department, institutional and government personnel.
• Skills examining operations and procedures, formulating policy and implementing new strategies and procedures.
• Excellent speaking, writing and presentation skills.
• A high level of computer literacy and IT skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and records.
• Knowledge of the government fiscal regulations and processes.
• Ability to quickly interpret a variety of information/data in written, oral and graphic form.
• Ability to effectively interact with ministry and other senior administrative personnel.
• Strong supervisory, interpersonal communication, problem solving skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
• Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart information to a range of clientele.
