Job Description

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

CORPORATE PARALEGAL

  • Assist attorneys in preparation for hearings and trials and preparation of demand letters
  • Assist in preparing legal documents such as pleadings and contracts
  • Maintain all corporate records and prepare resolutions as requested
  • Provide administrative support for attorneys
  • Assist with preparation for training seminars & legal and compliance briefing sessions including booking rooms and equipment, copying and assembling hand-outs and other materials and making travel reservations for members of the Department
  • Perform other associated support functions

RISK

  • Develop, coordinate, and implement program activities in support of the risk management function
  • Ensure areas of responsibility are in compliance with risk management policy and advise VP accordingly
  • Research, compile and assemble data; assist in conducting surveys and studies; recommend and implement procedures, guidelines and processes
  • Prepare statistical and narrative reports, presentations, general and technical correspondence; develop forms, tracking systems, databases and spreadsheets

 

COMPLIANCE

  • Monitor compliance for assigned Departments or product lines based on the compliance monitoring programme
  • Review of CDD/KYC information on new accounts to ensure compliance with local laws,  Group policies and applicable international requirements
  • Review of Source of Funds Declarations for large payments received from existing clients to ensure compliance with local laws and Group policies

SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration; Paralegal Studies; Risk Management or equivalent and two years of relevant experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
  • Ability to interact with people at all levels of the corporate structure, prioritize and handle numerous competing demands in a high-volume, fast-paced working environment
  • Proven ability to organize work and meet deadlines while working effectively in independent settings
  • Excellent at multi-tasking
  • Anticipate support needs of attorneys across a variety of corporate legal matters
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and basic mathematical calculations
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Perform difficult technical and administrative work involving the use of independent judgment, initiative and accuracy
