Blue Lagoon Island is seeking to hire an Information Technology (IT) Manager who will be responsible for the management, strategy and execution of IT infrastructure for the company ensuring that the information technology infrastructure is continuously available and secure. The individual must be a hands-on professional who enjoys rolling up his or her sleeves and working with the team to achieve goals, maintain operations and systems and eliminate physical and logical security risks.

SKILLS/EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Programming or a related field required.
• 5 years leadership and management experience in an IT environment
• Sound working knowledge of IT operations, systems, and developments.
• Proven experience managing IT infrastructure and services.
• Experience with computer networks, network administration, and network installation.
• Proficient in computer and server hardware, structured cabling installation and support, CCTV – IP cameras Installation and support, wireless technology applications and interface, point to point wireless link, IP routing, IP telephony, IP PBX and IT security.
• Proficient in Microsoft Windows software’s, including Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Office, and Exchange Server.
• Advanced knowledge of virtualized server environment, backup management and disaster recovery.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop reliable metrics for hardware, software and storage while ensuring strategic capacity planning.
• Oversee the operation of server systems.
• Identify security vulnerabilities and eliminate them with strategic solutions that increase data safety.
• Identify and recommend new technology solutions.
• Developing and overseeing SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, time-based) metrics for hardware, software, and storage.
• Ensure strategic capacity planning.
• Communicating with the technology team and other departments as collaboration requires for various projects.
• Determining business requirements for IT systems and ensure updates.
• Directing and supporting the implementation of new software and hardware and upgrades.
• Managing the organization’s help desk (internal and external).
• Coordinating IT activities to ensure data availability and network services with as little downtime as necessary.
• Overseeing departmental finances, including budgeting and forecasting
• Implementing IT policies.
• Managing the deployment, development, monitoring, maintenance, upgrading and support of organizational IT systems. This will include operating systems, servers, PCs, software apps, telephones and peripherals.
• Providing expert advice and support when systems are being upgraded or installed, or when there are conversions or file maintenance.
• Overseeing the development and enhancement of systems and integrating new systems with those existing.
• Liaising regularly with executive and senior management as well as systems users.
• Managing IT staff, with responsibility for hiring, evaluation, training, guidance, disciplinary procedures and dismissals.
• Ensuring written documentation is created and maintained, to include user and system manuals, license agreements and all documentation relating to modifications and upgrades.
• Keeping up-to-date with the most recent technologies and advising on what new technological solutions and their implementation will meet business and systems requirements.
