Project Coordinator

Job Description

The Government of The Bahamas has received financing from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments under the Revitalization of the Sponging for the services of a Project Coordinator to assist with the management of the program

The Project Coordinator will be required to:

Manage the recruitment of consultants to deliver activities of the Program
Coordinate the logistical arrangements for training
Coordinate the mobilization of beneficiaries to participate in the Programs’s activities
Collaborate closely with consultants and experts to be engaged with the Program
Act as the secretary for the Technical Consultative Committee (TCC)
Prepare Disbursement Request
Prepare Annual Operating Plans and Progress Reports as required
Prepare required documents to meet the Contractual Clauses of the Program
The Bahamas Agricultural Industrial Corporation now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested candidates must provide information along with a detailed resume establishing that they are qualified to perform the services. The Criteria for Selection will be based on the following qualifications and experience:

General Qualifications:

Postgraduate Degree (Master’s or PhD) in Natural or Marine Science, Management or Economics
Knowledge of the local Fisheries and Agri-business Sectors will be an asset
Work Experience:

Extensive proven experience in management of large projects that involve procurement of consultants with a strong financial background
Adequacy for the assignment

Training and experience in the local Marine Resources Sector and Instructional assignments.
Excellent communication skills will be required to coordinate between BAIC, the Technical Committee, IDB and key players on the island of Andros.
Consultants will be selected in accordance with procedures set out in the Inter-American Development Bank:Policies for the Selection and Contracting of Consultants financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (GN-2350-7) and is open to all eligible consultants as defined in the policies
