Quality Data Specialist

Job Description

The Quality Data Specialist serves as a database system administrator and has overall responsibility for the continued maintenance of the online adverse event reporting system as well as the policy management system for DH Health System.

The Quality Data Specialist oversees and maintains the databases related to policies, procedures, and protocols as well as the Performance Improvement Dashboard tool.

The Specialist generates standard reports that are communicated out to the end-users for action and follow-up. Provides education and training to end-user groups and stakeholders related to Quality Standards and Safety.

DUTIES INCLUDE:
Maintain database-related policies, procedures, and protocols. Resolve general issues and consolidate feedback from end-user.

Identify opportunities for system enhancements and analyze the impact of suggested changes. Implement changes to the system as needed and communicate with Leadership and staff.

Collect, track and provide feedback regarding the Performance Improvement Dashboard. Communicate with end-users to obtain corrective action on measures and/or indicators.

Develop, implement and distribute standard reports to leadership and staff on a regular basis.

Assist in the overall management of the patient experience survey process.

Perform other duties as required.

EDUCATION:
Associate’s degree required.
Bachelors in Public Health or related discipline preferred.

EXPERIENCE:
2 – 4 years of experience in a healthcare setting. Preferably in Patient Safety, Quality or Risk Management.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Excellent interpersonal skills to deal effectively with a wide group of stakeholders including senior leadership, Department management and others.
Must have knowledge of medical terminology and hospital operations.
Must be knowledgeable of IT applications.
Must be able to lead and engage others.
Proficient at managing databases. Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
Able to perform data entry and retrieval, word processing. Knowledge of database management is helpful.
Excellent organizational skills to independently manage workflow.
Ability to prioritize quickly and appropriately.
Must be able to multi-task.
Requires meticulous attention to detail.
