Administrative & HR Officer (AHRO)

Job Description

The Administrative & HR Officer (AHRO) ensures that BREEF’s administrative, human resources and financial policies and procedures are documented and implemented.  The AHRO also collaborates with the Office & Projects Manager to source vendors, contractors and meet other resource needs.

Responsibilities:

Office Administration & Accounts

  1. Collaborate with management staff to update and implement administrative systems including records and database management, BREEF calendar, business communications.
  2. Procure and maintain office equipment and supplies.
  3. Maintain BREEF office space, vehicle and other physical resources/infrastructure.
  4. Assist with operations requiring external support: IT, cleaning, accounting, legal etc.
  5. Record expenditure and revenue using QuickBooks Online.
  6. Handle petty cash including weekly reconciliation and bills payment.

        Human Resource Functions

  1. Ensure compliance with organizational policies & procedures and labour laws.
  2. Assist with development and implementation of ‘Compensation & Benefits’ package.
  3. Assist with scheduling of staff leave and out-of-office engagements.
  4. Facilitate staff development and training opportunities.
  5. Assist with recruitment of new staff; conduct orientation exercises (and training where applicable).
  6. Provide employee support and counselling as needed (hearing and resolving employee grievances).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Management or related discipline, with at least 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Computer literate – ability to use a range of office software, including database and web-based applications
  • Accuracy and attention to detail essential; ability to set priorities, organize time and resources efficiently and work independently on several tasks at once
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Must have own transportation

Ability to swim is an asset but is not a requirement
